Job Overview
My long-standing periodontal practice is searching for a part-time, registered dental hygienist. The ideal candidate is a caring, compassionate, team player. Excellent communication skills are essential. Recent graduates are welcome. A New York state certificate in administrating local anesthesia is a plus but not mandatory.
Duties
Perform dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling, root planing and polishing teeth.
Take medical imaging and maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations.
Review documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient records.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety standards.
Requirements
Valid dental hygiene license in New York state.
Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and familiarity with dental office systems.
Experience in assisting with various dental procedures is preferred.
Knowledge of infection control practices and documentation review processes.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
The days and hours are flexible--Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and occasional Saturdays are available.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 â 30 per week
