Requirements:

Valid Registered Dental Hygienist license in New York State
Current CPR certification
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to providing high-quality, thorough dental care

Responsibilities:

Ability to educate patients on the importance of oral hygiene, with effective instruction and demonstrations
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and root planing as needed
Conduct initial patient screenings and review dental/medical histories
Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays)
Educate patients on effective oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and lifestyle choices that impact oral health
Apply preventive materials such as fluoride and sealants as needed
Assess and document patients' oral health status and update treatment plans
Maintain a clean and organized operatory, following OSHA and infection control protocols
Collaborate with the dentist and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care
Provide a positive and compassionate patient experience, addressing questions or concerns
