Job Description

We are looking for a fun, friendly, and motivated part-time registered dental assistant or pediatric dental assistant that loves working with children in a welcoming and compassionate environment. We are looking for candidates with excellent customer service, who are well-organized with great attention to detail and are a team player. You should be able to follow instructions and follow all dental regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct patient care and able to accurately record patient records and treatment.

Responsibilities

DA duties that include diagnostic quality x-rays and chairside assisting
RDA duties that include coronal polish and sealants
Prepare patients for treatment and ensure their comfort by monitoring patient behavior
Set up instruments, equipment and material needed for cleanings, fillings, crowns, pulp therapies, extractions, etc.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory areas, following infection control procedures
Maintain & update accurate patient records (in compliance with HIPAA regulations) including charting and treatment planning chairside
Record accurate patient vitals
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Ensure dental equipment is maintained and in proper working order, including routine cleaning and disinfecting of instruments and equipment
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Assist with administrative duties as needed (e.g., answering phones, scheduling, confirming appointments)
Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required

Skills

Experience in dental practice management software (OpenDental) preferred but not required
RDA license with coronal polish and sealants preferred but not necessary
Proven experience as dental assistant
Current CPR/PALS certification required (or willingness to obtain)
Radiology (x-ray) certification required.
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Pediatric dental experience preferred, but not required
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail and ability to record keep accurately
Well-organized and reliable
High school diploma
Team player attitude
