At Carefree Smiles Dentistry, we aim to help patients achieve great oral health. We are looking for a dental hygienist to facilitate oral screenings, clean patientsâ teeth for preventative care, and guide them through proper oral hygiene. The dental hygienist will also assist the dentist with other duties, such as taking X-rays if the hygiene assistant cannot, identifying gum and tooth diseases, and managing patient charts. We are committed to providing a positive and educational dental experience that encourages patients to take better care of their teeth, and our ideal candidate will be an active participant in this mission.
Assess patientsâ oral charts and guide them through screenings
Conduct professional teeth cleaning to prevent tooth decay and other diseases
Facilitate and develop X-rays when necessary
Provide dental education to patients to encourage better oral care
Examine gums and teeth for possible diseases
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Sterilize dental equipment
Communicate with patients regarding dental concerns
Clean patientsâ teeth by applying fluoride or removing calcareous deposits
Promote best oral health habits to patients
Assist the dentist with minor procedures
Review patientsâ dental history before providing dental treatment
Skills and Attributes
Relevant dental hygienist licensure from an accredited school
Diploma in dental hygiene
Proven experience in the dental field
Deep understanding of dental health and safety regulations
Strong communication skills
Ability to use dental instruments safely and effectively
Job Specifications
Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Diploma and valid license in Dental Hygiene
