To prosper as an Extended Function Dental Assistant, you should have:

At least 2 years of continuous experience working in a dental practice.
Certification as an Extended Function Dental Assistant or Associate’s degree in an EFDA program.
Stellar verbal and written communication skills.



More about your role as an Extended Function Dental Assistant:

Prepare patients for dental work.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, setting up trays.
Assist with dental procedures, including fillings, cleanings, root canals, extractions, crown and bridge work, dental implants, etc.
Collect and record medical and dental history.
