Job Description
Duties:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and tartar, and applying fluoride treatments- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care- Take and develop dental x-rays to assist in diagnosing dental conditions- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history and treatment plans- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical documentation- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean dental office environment
Skills:
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic, or similar platforms- Experience working with pediatric patients and providing age-appropriate dental care- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dental procedures and conditions- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record patient information- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and the dental team- Ability to perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical documentation
