Job Description

*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
*Duties*
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess oral health.
- Utilize medical imaging techniques to capture diagnostic images as needed.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist in the development of individualized patient care plans based on assessments.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
- Monitor and record vital signs as part of the patient assessment process.
- Collaborate with dentists and other dental staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Implement aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
*Skills*
- Proficiency in Open Dental and familiarity with other dental office software.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique to prevent infection during procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of dental anatomy and terminology.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Ability to provide exceptional patient care with a focus on comfort and education.
- Background in dental assisting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques for diagnostic purposes.
- Competence in monitoring vital signs to support overall patient health.
