Job Summary
Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Dentist to join thier dedicated team. This position will focus primarily on pediatric dentistry, with a strong emphasis on providing care to children in a supportive and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient-centered, and able to manage diverse dental needs while addressing the behavioral health challenges that often accompany pediatric dental visits.
Responsibilities
÷ Provide comprehensive dental care to patients, including routine check-ups, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and preventive care.
÷ Conduct thorough exams and diagnoses, developing personalized treatment plans.
÷ Manage dental emergencies and special cases as needed.
÷ Demonstrate excellent patient communication skills, ensuring children and their families feel comfortable and informed throughout their treatment.
÷ Address and manage behavioral health issues commonly found in pediatric patients, using calming techniques, positive reinforcement, and other strategies to create a positive dental experience.
÷ Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, mental health professionals, and dental hygienists, to deliver whole care.
÷ Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and health center policies.
÷ Participate in community outreach and educational initiatives to promote oral health awareness in the local community.
÷ Provide guidance to dental assistants and other staff as needed.
Qualifications
÷ 5+ years experience as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and be currently licensed in Missouri.
÷ Previous experience working with pediatric patients is highly preferred.
÷ Training or experience in managing pediatric behavioral health issues and anxiety in the dental setting is a plus.
÷ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with children and families.
÷ Compassionate, patient-centered care approach with a focus on improving the dental experience for patients.
÷ Willingness to work in a rural health center and serve underserved populations.
÷ Knowledge of current dental technologies and techniques, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
This position is based in a rural health center, serving a diverse community, that operates Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours depending on community needs.
