POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our growing independent dental hygiene practice. The Dental Assistant will work closely with the hygienist and other team members to provide high-quality dental care, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout their visit. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong clinical abilities, and a passion for helping others. This is a great role for someone new to dental assisting wanting to gain confidence and skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure all necessary supplies are ready for patient care.
Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including fillings, extractions, crowns, and cleanings.
Take dental x-rays and ensure they are processed correctly.
Provide post-operative care instructions to patients and ensure they understand their treatment plan.
Maintain accurate patient records, documenting procedures, treatments, and patient interactions.
Prepare and mix dental materials such as fillings, impressions, and cements.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, dental care techniques, and preventive measures.
Ensure a sterile and safe working environment by following infection control protocols.
Handle patient comfort during procedures by providing reassurance and managing anxiety.
Assist in patient scheduling, confirming appointments, and managing patient flow.
Perform basic administrative duties, such as filing and maintaining patient records.
Assist with inventory management, ensuring that dental supplies are well-stocked and organized.
Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials and compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Dental Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited program is highly preferred.
CPR and First Aid certifications required or willingness to obtain.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during dental procedures.
Must be able to lift or carry dental supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to assist patients in getting in and out of the dental chair.
Visual and manual dexterity to handle small instruments and equipment.
Ability to bend, reach, and move around the treatment room during procedures.
WORKING CONDITION
Full-time position, with the possibility of occasional evening or weekend hours depending on the officeââ¬â¢s schedule.
Professional and clean environment, adhering to all safety and infection control guidelines.
Interaction with a diverse patient population and collaborative office team.
