Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our fun, fast paced dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to children, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for our young patients. This position requires a strong understanding of pediatric dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing the necessary instruments and materials.
Ensure that all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained according to infection control protocols.
Taking dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
Maintain accurate medical records, including patient history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
Utilize dental software such as Dentrix for record keeping and appointment management.
Monitor vital signs of patients as necessary during procedures.
ExperienceCandidates should possess the following skills and knowledge:
Nitrous and Sealant Certification
Experience with coronal polishing
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
Basic knowledge of human anatomy related to dental health.
Proficiency in infection control measures within a clinical setting.
Previous experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus but not mandatory
