Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Duties- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including but not limited to endodontics and pediatrics.- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.- Take dental X-rays and perform medical imaging as required.- Maintain patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the office.- Ensure the dental operatory is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.- Utilize dental software systems such as Open Dental for record keeping and patient management.
Requirements- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory.- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices is essential.- Familiarity with dental systems, X-Ray procedures, and medical imaging is highly desirable.- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is a plus.
