Dental Assistant
Description
The dental assistant is a gateway position into a career in the dental profession. NRHC will train the right person for this opportunity. While assisting the dentist with dental procedures, the dental assistant interacts with the general public, patients, and co-workers in a manner that supports the quality and patient service commitments of NRHC. Responsibilities:
Handle multiple tasks, prioritize job duties, and work in a fast paced work environment.
Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patients feel comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient, quality dental treatment.
Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists.
Assisting dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needs
Taking and processing X-rays of patients.
Processing lab work for the dentist.
Greeting patients as they arrive and scheduling appointments.
Taking billing and insurance details from patients.
Advising patients on recommended oral hygiene.
Updating and maintaining dental records.
Handling general administrative and other duties to maintain the dental clinic.
Additional Requirements
Basic computer skills
Experience with electronic medical records
Communicate in English written and orally
Can lift up to 25 pounds
Can sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (more than 3 hours)
Can work cooperatively with others
Pay Range: (16.00 - $20.80) per hour, depending on experience)
