Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Must be available on Thursdays, and some Saturdays.
Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed at all times.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
Record and update patient medical histories, including vital signs, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the clinic using Dentrix/open dental, or similar software systems.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
Ensure compliance with all health regulations and safety standards within the dental clinic.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
Knowledge of four-handed dentistry, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental terminology is essential.
Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix/Open Dental is a plus.
Certification in dental assisting or completion of an accredited program is highly desirable.
Ability to take accurate vital signs and understand their significance in patient care.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are crucial for success in this role.
Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate patient schedules.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
