Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, focusing on preventive oral health. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient management, and the ability to work effectively within a dental office environment. The Dental Hygienist will also ensure compliance with all health regulations and maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere for patients.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of preventive care.
Take and develop dental radiographs as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and any relevant information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in maintaining accurate patient records using dental office systems such as Eaglesoft.
Apply sealants and fluoride treatments as necessary while adhering to infection control protocols.
Collaborate with the dentist to develop treatment plans based on patient needs and preferences.
Stay current with medical terminology and infection control practices to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health and dental procedures.
Familiarity with medical coding practices is preferred but not required.
Experience working in a dental office setting is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while providing exceptional patient care.
