Job Description
As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will play an essential role in ensuring that our young patients receive excellent care in a safe, supportive, and welcoming setting. Youâll assist the dentist during exams and procedures, provide patient education, and help maintain a smooth and efficient office environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the pediatric dentist during dental exams and procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
- Taking dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Comfort and prepare patients for procedures, explaining treatments and procedures in an age-appropriate manner.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout appointments.
- Record patient medical history and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts.
- Provide post-treatment care instructions and follow-up.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and provide excellent customer service to families.
- Educate parents and patients about proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Qualifications:
- Registered Dental Assistant License with the State of WA required
- Previous experience as a dental assistant, preferably in pediatrics, is a plus but willing to train.
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization procedures, and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well with children and their families.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
