Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental clinic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental professionals and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient care, and administrative tasks, making it essential for the candidate to possess excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient safety.
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are prepared in advance.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Manage infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both staff and patients.
Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and perform receptionist duties as needed.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in various specialties, including endodontics.
Utilize dental software systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft for record management and appointment scheduling.
Skills
Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and procedures is essential.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
Experience with dental software systems like Epic or Eaglesoft is preferred but not required.
Understanding of infection control practices within a dental clinic setting.
Ability to accurately document medical records and maintain organized files.
Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus, enhancing administrative capabilities within the role.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members alike.
