Job Description
Job Summary (Part-Time or Full-Time)We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant or Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dynamic dental team. The EFDA will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing advanced dental procedures under the supervision of a licensed dentist. The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical skills, a strong understanding of dental practices, and a commitment to patient satisfaction.
Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and ensure sterilization of instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
Assist the dentist during a variety of procedures, including restorative, cosmetic, endodontic, and surgical treatments.
Taking impressions and pouring models.
Fabricating temporary crowns or bridges.
Endodontics: Assist with root canal treatments, including preparation and disinfection of canals, managing files, and using digital apex locators.
Invisalign: Support Invisalign case setup by taking digital scans, monitoring patient progress, and educating patients on aligner wear and care.
Operate and maintain digital technology, including CAD/CAM systems, intraoral scanners, and digital X-ray equipment.
Educate patients on post-operative care, treatment plans, and proper oral hygiene practices.
Maintain and update accurate patient records, including treatment notes and digital imaging.
Assist in treatment planning by collaborating with the dentist and utilizing digital tools for imaging and case presentation.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure the operatory is fully stocked and equipped.
Provide exceptional patient care by creating a comfortable, supportive, and professional environment.
Qualifications
Radiology licensed
Valid Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification/licensure in MD is a plus. Willing to train if committed to a long-term employment.
Current CPR certification.
Proficiency in using dental software and digital X-ray equipment.
Strong understanding of dental instruments, materials, and procedures.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
