FLSA status: Non-Exempt; Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm
Wage Range: $16.33 to $19.17 hourly; depending on number of years of transferrable experience and internal equity

Dental Clinic Overview:
The RiverStone Health Dental Clinic is committed to making sure patients get the best possible care. Our high-quality dental services improve the health of our community and are supplemented by dentists completing their dental residency. The dental team works closely with the with RiverStone Health Clinic medical providers, since dental care has a significant impact on overall health. The Dental Clinic cares for patients of all ages, including seeing children for their first trip to the dentist. Team members are sensitive and understanding to individual needs and comfort levels. The dental team works with patients regardless of insurance coverage to provide check-ups, cleanings, sealants, x-rays, fillings and minor surgeries.
Job Summary:
The Dental Technician position performs dental office duties including setting up rooms for patient care and sterilizing instruments. The position provides excellent customer service when answering questions and gathering information to maintain accurate patient records. Serves as a backup to the Dental Assistant in answering phones and providing additional office and informational support.
Essential Functions/Major Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Dental Technician Services 95%

Prepares and sets up rooms for patient care.
Sterilizes instruments and ensures infection control measures are utilized in the cleaning and routine maintenance of equipment and exam rooms.
Serves as a backup to the Dental Assistant with the following duties:

Perform routine reception work including answer phones and take messages for staff.
Seat patients and provide comfort before and after a dental procedure.
Provide information to patients for follow-up care and post-visit instructions.
Utilize requisite tools, systems, technology and equipment in the collection of patient data, and records management.

Respond to patient questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
Assist in maintaining patient health history.
Provide integrity, ingenuity, and motivation in the ability to implement new skills and knowledge brought about by rapid changing information and technology.
Provide a variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time sensitive deadlines.
Must obtain Radiation Health and Safety certification within 9 months of start date

Non-Essential Functions/Other duties as assigned 5%

Perform other duties as assigned in support of RiverStone’s mission and goals.

Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

Sterilization Tech or dental clinic experience

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Successful completion of CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
