Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction while adhering to the highest standards of hygiene and safety. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote oral health and educate patients about preventive care.
Duties

Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy on patients.
Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Document patient treatment plans, progress, and any changes in their oral health status.
Review documentation for accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in the management of dental office operations, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records in Dentrix.
Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental hygiene practices.

Requirements

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Experience in a dental office setting preferred.
Proficient understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy is essential.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
Ability to take vital signs accurately and assess patient needs effectively.
Previous experience in dental assisting is a plus but not mandatory.
Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients clearly and compassionately.
