Job Description
Seeking a dental assistant with a Maryland Radiation License to work for our small private practice.
REQUIRED: Previous dental experience and Radiation License in the state of MD.
Expanded functions for MD desirable. Starting salary increased if qualified.
Salary based on experience, performance, and will increase with growth and time spent with the practice.
Full Time Monday-Thursday and second Saturday

PATIENT MANAGEMENT:
Greet patients when they sign in and monitor arrival time
Work with front desk to check the daily schedule for accuracy
Set up treatment rooms for procedures
Escort patients to and seat patients in treatment rooms
Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable
Obtain and review health histories, verifying and updating health information, taking patient vitals according to office guidelines
Ensure patients are always attended
Anticipate and assist dentistâs needs
Ensure patientsâ questions are answered thoroughly before they leave
Escort patients from the treatment room
Perform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentist
Give patient instruction and demonstrate when necessary
Monitor patient flow
TREATMENT ROOM MANAGEMENT AND STERILIZATION
Keep dental units ready, stocked and clean
Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures
Disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations
Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations
Keep trays, instruments and treatment room drawers organized
Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases
Implement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipment
Maintain dental office emergency kits and nitrous and oxygen tanks
Follow laboratory procedures according to office protocol
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Monitor inventory and order dental office supplies as necessary, in a timely fashion
Ensure that treatment rooms are stocked at all times
OFFICE PARTICIPATION
Assisting both doctor and hygienists chairside.
Help in other areas of the office when necessary (i.e., answering phones, unpacking supplies, etc.)
Promote team concept by interacting with others in the office
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent
Compliance with state dental practice requirements (i.e., X-ray requirements, OSHA training)
Computer skills
INTERPERSONAL
Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and community
Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
