Job Description
Advanced Dental Care is excited to announce a new opening for a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist. We are looking for a professional to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing top-tier dental services in a compassionate and efficient manner. This position is ideal for someone committed to enhancing patient care and promoting oral health practices. This is a Full-Time position located at our well-equipped, state-of-the-art facility; please note that this is not a remote job.
The successful candidate will be integral to our team, working directly under the supervision of our dentists to provide preventative care, patient education, and various clinical treatments. This role requires a detail-oriented person with a patient-centric approach to healthcare, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and medical record management in accordance with industry regulations and office policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform oral health assessments and screening which includes review of patientâs health history, dental charting, and periodontal assessment
Remove plaque and calculus (tartar) from above and below the gum line using various dental instruments
Apply prophylactic and antibacterial materials, fissure sealants, and topical fluorides to help prevent tooth decay
Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) as prescribed by the dentist
Make impressions of patient's teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs)
Provide patients with ongoing maintenance for their periodontal treatments
Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
Maintain patient records by updating and filing their dental treatments and outcomes according to confidentiality agreements
Assist dentists in managing dental and medical emergencies
Adhere to and enforce all sterilization and infection control regulations
Collaborate with other members of the dental team to provide high-quality patient care
Requirements
Degree or certification in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
Valid state license to practice dental hygiene (RDH)
Proficiency in using dental office software and digital radiography
Excellent verbal communication skills, with a focus on patient education and team collaboration
Physical stamina and ability to handle prolonged periods of standing
Meticulous attention to detail with a proven ability to perform tasks with precision and accuracy
Commitment to learning and adhering to the latest industry regulations and standards
A patient and friendly personality, capable of making patients feel at ease during treatments
