As an Endodontic Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting our endodontist with patient care throughout the day. You will assist in a range of procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety. You'll have the opportunity to work with a small collaborative team in a fast paced environment, helping to manage approximately 6-15 patients daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the endodontist during all phases of endodontic procedures, including root canal treatments, retreatments, and apicoectomy surgeries.
- Prepare and sterilize equipment, instruments, and treatment rooms in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop diagnostic radiographs as required.
- Manage patient flow and ensure smooth transitions between procedures, maintaining an organized and efficient schedule.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene practices related to endodontic procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes and X-ray documentation.
- Ensure patient comfort and provide excellent chair-side manner during procedure.
- Assist with administrative duties, including scheduling and patient follow-up when needed.
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies and techniques in the field of endodontics.
Requirements:
Previous Experience- While a minimum of one year of dental assisting experience is not required, candidates with prior dental training or relevant knowledge will be given preference.
Organization and Time Management- Ability to manage patient flow efficiently in a busy practice, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Team Player- Collaborative, dependable, and willing to work closely with the endodontist, other assistants, and administrative staff to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
Technical Proficiency- Comfortable using dental equipment, tools, software systems. Experience with digital radiography and practice management software is beneficial.
Physical Stamina- Ability to remain standing for extended periods, assist with positioning patients, and perform other physically demanding tasks as needed.
Flexibility- Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment with a positive attitude.
Patient Care Skills- Excellent chair-side manner with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding during procedures.
Infection Control- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and OSHA standards to ensure patient and staff safety.
We will provide training for those who are entry-level!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 â 45 per week
