Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for patient treatments.
Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients.
Assist with endodontic procedures as needed, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Utilize Dentrix or Epic systems for accurate record keeping and appointment management.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with Dentrix software is an advantage; training will be provided for other systems.
Knowledge of medical documentation practices and HIPAA compliance is essential.
Experience in pediatrics or pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
