Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions 2
STATUS: Non Exempt, Full-Time
LOCATION: Jackson, California
STARTING SALARY: $35.74-$48.87
POSITION SUMMARY:
Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions 2 will work under close supervision of the Dentist.
The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
All duties expected of a Registered Dental Assistant.
Additional duties according to the Dental Board of California RDAEF2 Table of Allowable Duties which may include the following:
Performing Advanced Restorative Procedures
Placing, contouring, finishing, and adjusting all direct restorations
Fitting endodontic master points and accessory points
Cementing endodontic master points and accessory points
Impression Taking and Fabrication
Taking final impressions for permanent indirect restorations
Fabricating, adjusting, cementing, and removing temporary restorations
Sealants and Bonding
Placing bases, liners, and bonding agents
Placing and contouring sealants
Periodontal Duties
Placement of periodontal dressings.
Removal of periodontal dressings and sutures after inspection by the dentist.
3. Administrative Duties
Patient Management:
Educating patients on postoperative care and oral hygiene
Taking and recording medical and dental histories and vitals
Assisting the Dentist:
Providing chairside assistance during examinations and treatments.
Preparing and organizing dental instruments and materials.
4. Regulatory Compliance Infection Control
Implementing infection control protocols according to state and federal regulations.
Ensuring that the operatory and instruments are sterile and prepared for patient use.
5. Record Keeping
Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records.
Documenting treatment plans and procedures performed.
6. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of an approved RDAEF2 educational program.
Proficient in advanced restorative techniques.
Strong communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality of care.
A desire to learn and keep abreast of new dental technologies.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Must hold a current and valid RDAEF2 license issued by the Dental Board of California.
Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).
This position requires long periods of standing and bending over while working.
