Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and administrative responsibilities, making it essential for candidates to be well-versed in both areas.
Responsibilities

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary equipment.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using medical imaging techniques.
Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as needed.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow, acting as a dental receptionist when required.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Perform basic laboratory tasks such as making impressions or preparing materials for procedures.
Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with patient assessments.
Utilize dental software systems, such as Dentrix, for efficient record keeping and scheduling.

Skills

Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry.
Experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred.
Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
Ability to operate 3D scanners and other advanced dental imaging equipment.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
Capability to assist in various clinical tasks while managing administrative duties efficiently.
