Job Description

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Duties

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information.
Patient charting and documentation in Dentrix software.
Perform basic dental procedures under the supervision of the dentist, including taking impressions, x-rays, pouring models, and fabricating temporary crowns.
Educate patients on post-treatment care.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology procedures is essential for effective communication within the practice.
Familiarity with Dentrix and Dexis dental computer software systems is preferred.
Previous experience in assisting during dental procedures is highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients.
Must be able to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Dental radiology license required for position. Applicants in the process of pursuing license will be considered.
