Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support throughout their healthcare journey. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, a thorough understanding of medical terminology, and experience with eClinicalWorks or similar systems. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients, managing their appointments and assisting with their needs in a friendly and professional manner.
Duties

Greet patients and manage front desk operations to ensure a welcoming environment.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time slots.
Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix Ascend software.
Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
Provide information to patients regarding procedures, services, and insurance coverage.
Handle patient inquiries and resolve issues promptly to enhance patient satisfaction.
Support the dental assistant and dentist as needed, including processing payments and verifying insurance information.
Utilize medical coding knowledge to assist in billing processes where applicable.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.

Qualifications

Proven experience in an administrative role within a dental office setting is preferred.
Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend or similar electronic health record systems is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices is beneficial.
Strong clerical skills including 10 key typing proficiency and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Previous experience as a dental receptionist is required or in office management is a plus.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week

Education:

High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

Customer service: 2 years (Required)
Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

25% (Preferred)
