Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team at our busy dental office. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our dental team in delivering exceptional dental services.
Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing treatment rooms, seating patients, and providing chairside assistance.
Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
Provide oral hygiene instructions to patients and assist with patient education.
Perform basic dental laboratory procedures, such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns.
Record and update patient information in electronic dental records, including medical history and treatment plans.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, and manage patient flow to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
Assist with office duties, such as answering phones, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of dental office and equipment.
Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Collaborate with other dental team members, including dentists, hygienists, and front office staff, to provide optimal patient care.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred.
Current state dental assisting certification or licensure required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a dental assistant preferred.
Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials.
Ability to take and develop dental X-rays in compliance with safety regulations.
Proficiency in using dental software and electronic health records.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Professionalism, empathy, and compassion towards patients.
Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
