Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of our dental office, providing exceptional support to our dental team while delivering outstanding care to our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Maintain infection control protocols by adhering to sterilization procedures and managing the cleanliness of the treatment area.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in medical records.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
Manage patient flow, ensuring timely appointments and minimal wait times for patients.
Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing inquiries as needed.
Support pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialized areas as required by the practice.
Experience
Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
Knowledge of infection control practices is essential for maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and vital signs is advantageous for effective patient care.
Experience with pediatric dentistry or specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members alike.
