Job Description
Overview:
In this role, youââ¬â¢ll be an important member of the clinical team, working alongside GPs and other Specialty Clinicians dedicated to serving patients. Youââ¬â¢ll be supporting many sides of the practice, greeting and guiding patients, and helping out across the office as needed.
Schedule (days/hours): Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm Responsibilities:
Assist the Dentist: Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during examinations, cleanings, and other dental procedures. This includes handing instruments, preparing materials, and ensuring patient comfort.
Radiographs: Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Sterilization and Infection Control: Follow sterilization procedures to clean and disinfect instruments and work areas, ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
Prepare Treatment Areas: Set up and prepare dental operatory with necessary instruments, materials, and equipment for specific procedures.
Patient Care: Educate patients about proper oral hygiene, provide pre- and post-operative care instructions, and ensure they are comfortable throughout treatment.
Clinical Tasks: Assist with various procedures, such as placing fillings, taking impressions, performing soft tissue management, and applying sealants or fluoride treatments.
Maintain Patient Records: Accurately update and maintain patient charts and records, ensuring all treatment information is properly documented.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage dental supplies, ensuring that the office is well-stocked with necessary materials and equipment.
Patient Flow: Help manage patient flow by ensuring that appointments are on schedule, and patients are properly prepared for their procedures.
Administrative Duties: Assist with patient scheduling, confirming appointments, and managing patient intake forms. Handle any administrative tasks as needed to support the dental team.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dental team to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the dental office, helping other staff as needed.
Qualifications:
State of Texas Dental Assistant license
CPR certification
X-Ray license
Use of electronic dental records
Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour About:
