$17-$25 hr depending on experience Responsibilities:
Adhere to all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use
Prepare and layout sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials inside treatment rooms for examinations and dental procedures
Welcome patient and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during their appointment
Schedule appointments for patient care follow up, answer any questions they may have about dental hygiene, and provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patientsââ¬â¢ teeth and gums, after procedures
Support dentists and dental hygienists by handing off dental instruments, providing suction, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team during procedures or examinations
Screening procedures include assessment of oral health conditions, adult and child prophylaxis, periodontal charting, and periodontal therapy including dispensing of subgingival medications.
Scanning with iTero
Assisting doctor with co-diagnosis of dental problems.
Applying preventive materials to the teeth such as fluorides and sealants, nutritional counseling, and providing oral hygiene instructions.
Being familiar with Invisalign
Qualifications:
Experience with dental software, updating patient histories, and computer skills are needed
Previous dental assisting experience as a registered dental assistant or certified dental assistant (3 years) is necessary
Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are preferred
Need state licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
Active BLS/CPR certification is required
Skill in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines; and excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to perform each position responsibility satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED certificate(required). Current CPR (BLS) is required. Minimum 1 year of experience as an RDA preferred but not required.
License and/or Certification: Current RDA certification from Texas Dental Board(required) Current CPR certification(required).
