Job Description

The Adjunct Faculty member supervises students in clinical settings
Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.






Duties & Responsibilities




Prepares course schedule
Evaluates and advises students
Prepares exams
Prepares syllabus
Monitors class roster
Maintains schedule that allows for student meetings
Schedules laboratory sessions for skills component of course
Teaches in lecture and laboratory settings; blended and virtual environments
Disseminates information and recruits students for service-learning initiatives
Assesses student performance in the clinical setting
Performs other duties as assigned







Minimum Requirements






Bachelor's or Associate's degree in and field; and Certificate in Dental Assisting with Expanded Function (EFDA) from an American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program at a regionally accredited institution; and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB); and, three (3) years of full-time work and/or instructional experience as a Certified Dental Assistant
All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
Possess excellent and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend assignments
Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
