Weââ¬â¢re a Periodontal Specialty office searching for two full time Surgical Dental Assistant to provide support to our brand new fast-paced office. Assistant provides a range of clinical, administrative, and staff support to a full-range dental services. Assists in the performance of surgical, sedation and radiography procedures; prepares and maintains dental equipment and supplies in accordance with established protocol, procedures, policies, and standards, and assists in the coordination of day-to-day patient administration, records management, and office support activities. Responsibilities
1. Provides chairside assistance to Periodontist in the performance of all surgical procedures.
2. Prepares, sterilizes, organizes, and sets up dental equipment, ensures that all dental instruments are cleaned, dated, and processed according to established clinic guidelines and standards.
3. Monitors and maintains dental equipment, such as compressors, evacuator systems, radiographic developing equipment, sterilizers, and light curing units, in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines.
4. Develops and processes dental radiographs in accordance with provider orders; assists in the monitoring and maintenance of radiation safety procedures and protocols.
5. Follows and maintains all relevant federal, state, and institutional regulations, guidelines, policies, and standards for the provision of dental clinical services.
6. Orders and maintains inventories of dental clinic supplies. Updates active inventory lists on google drive contacts Business manager when supplies are to be ordered.
7. Maintains dental laboratory slips and creates and maintains dental records in accordance with established protocol and procedures.
8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
9. Preparing and maintaining dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
10. Collecting and recording patient health histories.
11. Patient management during dental procedures.
12. Instrument transfer.
13. Dental procedure sterile techniques.
14. Preparation of dental materials, regenerative material, etc.
15. Dental charting.
16. Prevention and management of dental medical emergencies.
17. Inventory control and management.
Skills
Proven experience as dental assistant (surgical not required)
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated surgical tasks
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. surgical experience, phlebotomy, sedation training)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
