Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with various dental procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment through proper aseptic techniques.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary equipment for various dental procedures.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
Provide chairside assistance during four-handed dentistry, ensuring that the dentist has the necessary tools readily available.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with medical coding when necessary.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic, acting as a dental receptionist when needed.
Support pediatric dentistry efforts by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
Assist in endodontics procedures as required, demonstrating knowledge of relevant techniques and terminology.
Skills
Proficient in aseptic technique to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Familiarity with dental terminology to effectively communicate with the dental team and patients.
Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, showcasing an ability to work well with children.
Knowledge of medical coding for accurate record keeping is desirable.
Strong assisting skills, particularly in four-handed dentistry practices.
Proficiency in using Epic or similar dental software for patient management is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate effective interactions with patients and team members.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.85 - $17.05 per hour
Expected hours: 24 ââ¬â 32 per week
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
Experience:
Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
