Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice one day a week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care and education to patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during their visits.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations on patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental care.
Take and record vital signs, medical history, and dental history of patients.
Utilize knowledge of medical and dental terminology to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Assist in the management of patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Operate dental equipment and instruments in accordance with established protocols, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
Provide support in the administration of local anesthesia as required by the dentist.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental office, including sterilization of instruments.
Stay informed about advancements in dental hygiene practices, systems, and anatomy knowledge.
Qualifications
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in medical terminology, dental terminology, and understanding of anatomy related to oral health.
Experience or knowledge in pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
