Job Description
The Department of Dental Medicine at Jamaica Hospital provides high-quality dental services for children, adolescents, adults, and special needs patients. Our state-of-the-art dental center is staffed by a professional team consisting of attendings, hygienists, residents, and support staff. Our clinic is a full service practice offering patients operative, perio, endo, and prostho services. We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach to providing the highest professional, compassionate dental care to the many culturally diverse, undeserved patients we serve. We are currently seeking experienced Dental Hygienist for immediate full-time opportunities in our East New york Clinics.
Remove calcareous deposits, accretions and stains.
Polish teeth, Apply topical agents and sealants.
Taking and developing x- rays.Maintenance of apppropriate equipment and sterilization of instruments.
Provide oral hygiene instructions and patient education/
Review aand update medical history, take blood pressure and other procedures
that are in the scope of the dental hygienist.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAssociate Degree in Dental Hygiene, Current NYS Dental Hygiene License
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSAssociate Degree in Dental Hygiene, Currrent NYS Dental Hygiene License
JOB HAZARDS / PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be aware at all times for the potential of needle, instrument or bur stick, foreign objects that can obstruct thethroat. Hazards of blood splattering and the necessaiy precautions that are needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33.71 - $34.24 per hour
