Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist looking for a tropical island setting to join our dental practice in Hawaii. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal oral health for our patients. You will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care.
Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical records and vital signs.
Perform dental cleanings and apply preventive materials as needed.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using Dentrix or Eaglesoft systems.
Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
Assist the dentist during procedures as required, providing support with instruments and patient care.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Skills

Proficient in medical records management and documentation practices.
Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring and patient assessment techniques.
Knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
Excellent patient care skills with a focus on comfort and education.
Familiarity with Dentrix or Eaglesoft software systems is preferred.
Basic understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while assisting other staff members as needed.
