Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. This role involves performing assessments, cleanings, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to deliver exceptional patient care in a friendly and professional environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history and oral health evaluations.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth using appropriate instruments.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate medical records and document patient treatment in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Collaborate with dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Manage patient appointments and maintain an organized dental office environment.
Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in dental assisting, infection control protocols, and medical terminology.
Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software is preferred.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is a plus, as well as familiarity with patient assessment techniques.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of care in a dental office setting.
