Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe environment in the dental office. A strong background in dental terminology is preferred and also bilingual in Spanish.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort of patients.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and maintaining cleanliness.
Take and develop dental X-rays as required.
Manage patient records accurately, including medical history and treatment plans.
Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in emergency situations.
Schedule appointments and manage the front desk duties as needed.
Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Epic for record management.
Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques.
Ability to perform basic administrative tasks, including managing medical records.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Certification in radiology or willingness to obtain certification if required.
Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic is an advantage.
