Responsibilities
Assist dentists and hygienists with patient exams, treatments, and procedures, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for our patients..
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Operate dental equipment, including intraoral and extraoral cameras, and maintain accurate records of patient care.
Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Conduct medical imaging as required, including X-rays and other diagnostic tools.
Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Support front office duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries
Perform other duties as required to maintain the smooth operation of the dental clinic including light janitorial and lab tasks
Experience
Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred.
Spanish speaking not required but beneficial
Familiarity with dental systems (Open Dental) and computer equipment.
Knowledge of infection control practices and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards is required.
Experience as a dental receptionist or in managing patient interactions is advantageous.
Proficiency in radiographs technique
Intraoral scanning (Medit) experience a plus but willing to train
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a dental assisting program or equivalent training.
Current CPR certification.
Current radiograph (x-ray) certification
Coronal polish certificate required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with computers and dental clinic software
Certification as a dental assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred.
