As a Dental Hygienist, you will be the backbone of our practice, working closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive dental care and support. Responsibilities:
Cleaning Teeth - Removal of plaque, tartar and stains.
Apply Preventive Treatments - Using sealants and fluoride to help protect teeth.
Take Digital X-Rays - Capture digital dental x-rays for dentist review to help diagnose existing treatment if applicable.
Educate Patients - Teach patients about proper oral hygiene techniques such as brushing and flossing.
Document Patient Care - Digitally maintain accurate records of patient treatments and care plans.
Assist Dentists - Support dentists during procedures and provide post-operative instructions.
Ensure Safety and Sterilization - Follow infection control protocols and ensure dental instruments are properly sterilized.
Requirements:
Education - Earn an bachelor's degree in dental hygiene from an accredited program.
Practical Training - Completed practical training and gain hands-on experience in the field.
National Board Examination - Successfully pass the National Board Dental Hygiene Exam.
State Licensure - Pass state-level examinations to obtain licensure in the state which you plan to practice.
Continuing Education - Participate in continuing education courses to maintain licensure and stay updated with the latest practice and technologies.
Communication - Master interpersonal and communication skills.
Teamwork - Master the ability to work within a small team setting.
Software Experience - Experience with the Open Dental software.
