Job Description
Job OverviewThe Clackamas County Health Centers Division is seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to the patients, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including fillings, extractions, and crown preparations.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Manage medical documentation accurately, including patient records and medical coding.
Utilize Eaglesoft software for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and processing billing.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Ensure all dental instruments are sterilized and ready for use before each procedure.
Support the front office staff with administrative tasks as needed to maintain office efficiency.
Taking and developing dental X-rays.
Perform coronal polishing and scaling procedures
Apply dental sealants
Take impressions for dental appliances
Assist in dental emergencies.
Work Schedule
Hours: Mon, Tue, and Fri: 8:00 am ââ¬â 5:00 pm
Tues, Weds: 10:00 am ââ¬â 7:00 pm
Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification.
Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification or willingness to obtain.
2 years of experience as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant is required.
Active dental license in the State of Oregon.
Familiarity with dental terminology, infection control practices, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
Experience using Eaglesoft or similar dental software is a plus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment are essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $26.02 - $27.07 per hour
