Job Description
Anderson Valley Health Center (AVHC) is located in beautiful Mendocino county known for its Wine, Waves and Wilderness, 2.5 hours north of San Francisco. Anderson Valley Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center and is the sole provider in the Anderson Valley area. We serve a unique population of general patients and migrant and seasonal farm workers. AVHC is currently seeking an excellent team player, who is comfortable treating all age ranges, and performing general dentistry for vulnerable populations and some advanced dentistry tasks.
Anderson Valley Health Centerââ¬â¢s mission is to provide affordable high quality care to all valley residents. The clinic opened its doors in 1976 as a ââ¬Åfree clinicââ¬Â and continues today as an independent rural Federally Qualified Health Center providing ââ¬Åwomb to tombââ¬Â care. Anderson Valley patients comprise of approximately 40% Hispanic/Latino, 20% Senior citizens, 45% Medi-Cal and 20% Sliding Fee Scale patients. In our single site, we operate services including; Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, an on-site medication dispensary, group support and health coaching for chronic disease patients. We see approximately 2,800 patients a year in 13,000 visits across departments.

Your role: As a General Dentist you should have impeccable clinical skills and be able to build trust with patients of all ages and be flexible in your duties and treatment approach. You should have an in-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety practices. The General Dentist performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills and works cooperatively with other dental staff such as RDA, DA and hygienist.
Core Responsibilities:
Ability and experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse and underserved populations
Interest in team-based care and demonstrating initiative in clinical quality improvement practices
High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients as we are a small team and community
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Develop and carry out previous treatment plans
Minimum Requirements:
Valid license issued by the Dental Board of California(or in process)
Completion of graduate degree in dental medicine
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
3 years' proven experience in general dentistry
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly demeanor
Attention to detail
Nice to have:
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Experience with Electronic Health Records (eCW experience a plus!)
