WHAT WOULD I BE DOING AT THIS JOB?
We are seeking an experienced general dentist to work full time (40 hours weekly Monday-Friday) in the dental department of our community health clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and skills in general dentistry, and will be able to work out of both our Santa Barbara location and our Carpinteria location.
Under the general direction and supervision of the Chief Dental Officer, this position provides comprehensive coordinated preventive dental services to an ethnically diverse patient populations of all ages.
The dentist ensures proper dental care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery; diagnosis and treatment of injuries and malformations of teeth, gums, and related oral structures; examines patients to assess condition, utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures; cleans, fills, extracts, and replaces teeth; provides preventative dental services to patients and education in oral and dental hygiene; requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary.

WHAT KIND OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
1. Completion of ADA accredited dental program required.
2. Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
3. Active California dental license.
4. Previous experience working with under-served population desired.
