Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our growing Dental team and aid in sterilization practices. The Dental Assistant is primarily responsible for maintaining proper infection control practices and appropriately processing instruments within the dental departmentââ¬â¢s central sterilization. Works closely with the Dental Director to ensure best practices are being followed at all times regarding infection control and safety within the department.
Duties
Works with dental director to ensure department maintains proper infection control practices.
Maintains central sterilization and ensures proper contaminated to sterile workflow.
Properly operates, monitors, and maintains sterilization equipment. Maintains autoclave log.
Performs spore testing of autoclaves, glucometer testing, and waterline testing at appropriate intervals. Maintains records of testing results.
Properly processes, dates, and assembles instrument cassettes and pouches.
Disinfects, processes, and prepares dental operatories as needed.
Greet patients with excellent customer service, room them, obtain and record patients vitals per department guidelines.
Stay up to date on infection control guidelines and seek opportunities to expand knowledge base.
Obtains diagnostic radiographs as prescribed by the dentist.
Follows proper safety procedures, utilizes proper protective equipment, and maintains proper infection control practices at all times.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of a formal dental assisting program required.
Dental Assistant license required. Coronal polishing, radiation safety, and nitrous oxide permits preferred.
BLS CPR certification.
Demonstrated proficiency in obtaining patient vital signs.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with dental practice management software.
Participates in CE as required by the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
