Description
We are currently looking for a Full Time Dental Assistant Specialty II to join our Dental Specialty team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.Summary:Provides clerical and clinical duties in the dental clinic.Responsibilities:
Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner
Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made
Greets and engages with a smile
Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes
Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment
Maintains and promotes professionalism
Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
Manages and orders office inventory, equipment, uniforms and/or other operational supplies
Answers the phone, transfers calls, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served
Prepares restorative materials for dental procedures
Performs coronal polishing procedures as instructed by dentist
Places and removes dental dam
Applies topical anesthetic as instructed by dentist
Applies sealants on teeth as instructed by dentist
Applies topical fluoride as instructed by dentist
Operates dental x-ray equipment
May require to be cross trained in multiple areas as assigned
Advocates and participates in patient and patient family education i.e., diagnosis, medications and discharge instructions
Records care given and reports patient care observations
Maintains and documents intake and output
Collects patient data in initial screening and documents as necessary
Assists provider with diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures, exams, specimen collection and other care as directed
Assists patients in scheduling appointments
Facilitates communication between the patient and the medical staff
Facilitates consults, referrals, and form completion as requested and approved by the medical staff
Assists with orientation, special activities and training on specific procedures, tasks or equipment
May transport items within the Chickasaw Nation with an emphasis in and around assigned area
Cleans, disinfects, assembles, packages, records, sterilizes, and stores all instruments and equipment used for patient care
Performs all other duties as assigned
