Job Description

Responsibilities:- Assist the dentist during dental procedures- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments- Take and develop dental x-rays- Perform dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following procedures- Follow aseptic techniques to ensure infection control- Take and record vital signs of patients- Assist with patient assessment and provide support during dental emergencies
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent- Completion of a dental assistant program or relevant experience- Knowledge of medical terminology and dental procedures- Familiarity with anatomy and oral health conditions- Proficiency in using dental software systems (e.g., Epic)- Ability to follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy- X-ray certification preferred but not required
Skills:- Strong communication and interpersonal skills- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment- Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records and schedules- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other dental professionals
