Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time hardworking and enthusiastic Dentist that will provide dental care to all age groups with accordance with the State of North Carolina licensing and professional scope of practice and applies diagnostic and therapeutic dental services to Advance Community Health (a FHQC), while making reasonable and sound assessments and treatment plans within the scope of the dental program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide and manage direct patient care to all age groups, including examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis and treatments for a diverse patient population within the scope of practice.
Works as part of a primary care team with staff, providers, and other community dental care providers.
Assures integration of patient education into all treatment phases.
Dentists advise patients on oral health and disease prevention, and teach them about proper oral care,
Makes reasonable and sound dental assessments and treatment plans
Consults with appropriate providers as necessary and makes recommendations to patients for outside referrals.
Obtains history and physical appropriate to dental problem.
Reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
Documents encounters in an accurate and timely manner.
Assists the Lead Dentist, Chief Operating Officer, and Practice Manager in the planning and evaluation of effective clinic operations.
Responsible for ensuring quality dental standards are compliant with organization standards.
Responds to quality issues as recommended by the Quality Improvement and Risk Management Plan.
Participates in ongoing identification of performance and process quality improvement opportunities of the department and the organization and the formulation and implementation of actions to achieve improvements.

Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of dentistry with a DDS/DMD.
Dentists’ licenses with the State of North Carolina.
DEA controlled substances registration certificate.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) certification – must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Preferred Skills

Bilingual English/Spanish
Completion of an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited residency program – Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) or General Practice Residency (GPR).
