Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring a comfortable and safe environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and educating patients about proper dental care.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, periocharting, and polishing teeth
Take Vitals
Take and develop dental x-rays
Take intraoral pictures
Conduct oral cancer screenings
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide oral health instructions
Assist the dentist during dental procedures
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software, Open Dental
Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment
Skills:
Excellent knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and techniques
Proficiency in using dental software systems such as EagleSoft, Dentrix, Open Dental
Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices
Attention to detail for accurate record keeping and documentation
Ability to work well in a team environment with other dental professionals
Knowledge of medical coding for insurance billing purposes
