Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to assist in various dental procedures.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
Ensure the sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols.
Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming environment and addressing their specific needs.
Utilize dental software systems, such as Epic, for record keeping and appointment management.
Perform administrative tasks as needed, including filing and inventory management.
Qualifications
Proven experience in dental assisting or completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology and general dentistry practices is essential.
Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA compliance.
Strong understanding of infection control practices within a clinical setting.
Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
Proficiency in using dental software systems; experience with Epic is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient care.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative in individual tasks.

Pay: $23.91 - $25.19 per hour
